How to top up your collagen levels

Collagen has been called the glue that holds everything together. It’s a very important component of your bodies but our supplies of it decline rapidly with age, so we need to get collagen from the foods we eat or through supplementation.

I mentioned in a instagram post that bone broth is a fantastic source of collagen and was surprised by how many people said they didn’t like it. I thought I would therefore do a video and show how I have mine.

Unbelievably, our collagen levels start declining at a young age when we’re inn our twenties and if we neglect our collagen intake, we will soon start to suffer the consequences.

Wrinkles, achy joints and thinning hair could all be a sign that we need more collagen.

By our forties having enough collagen in our diet is a must

Do you know if you’re getting enough collagen? I advise using supplementation as well as consuming collagen in your diet.

If you’re a vegan, you will need a collagen supplement

My own personal favourite is Collagen Shots (marine collagen) by Rejuvenated. It’s a powder that mixes with water to make a pleasant tasting drink. I try and have this every day.

They also have a vegan version called Skin Perfecting Complex that has a plant based form of amino acids that will also calm irritated or inflamed skin. In fact, it’s so incredible for skin, that many non-vegans will use this version.
