When it comes to health, sleep is one of the most important factors, and yet, disturbed sleep and sleep deprivation have become a major issue for many people. It’s no surprise, however, as we live in a world that makes good sleep almost impossible.
We are surrounded by sleep disruptors
The blue light from all our devices is the same light found in the early morning. It’s designed to wake us up and lower our melatonin levels. This hormone is put completely out of whack when we sit on our phones or computers during the evening. Hormones play a huge role in our wellbeing and our circadian rhythms. Sleep is crucial to keep the system working as it should.
In the video below, I look at all the factors that are ruining our sleep and give practical advice on how to change to it. I explain how I completely changed my bedtime routine resulting in huge improvements in how I sleep.
Consistency is key, as I will explain, and a good might’s sleep depends on it.
I also sometimes use natural supplements to help me fall asleep:
Albizia
This is a great product for anxiety, depression and insomnia. It’s for daily use and I took it for about 5 years with huge success.
Snooze
Made by Leapfrog, I recently discovered this sleep aid and it’s great. It has a patented ingredient called Lactium that contains the same milk protein that helps babies to sleep. It helps reduce stress and increases the ability to sleep – like a baby!
