Fasting and especially intermittent fasting, has become a very popular trend. In fact, when Fleur Borrelli and I published The In-Sync Diet back in 2015, we were one of the first proponents of it.

The reason it has become so popular is because of the incredible health benefits.

People who take up intermittent fasting often see their health transformed

It was, therefore, a complete shock to see a recent headline which proclaimed that fasting could put you at higher risk of death. A presentation at an American Heart Association conference claimed that eating within an 8-hour window each day was linked to a 91% higher risk of cardiovascular death.

Wow that’s a pretty damning statement. But can it possible be true?

I decided to talk to Dr Zoë Harcombe PhD, as she examines papers of this kind every week and I knew she’d have a lot to say about it. And she did.

Hear what she has to say in the video below and you can draw your own conclusions about to what to make of it.
