The founder of the pioneering organic skin care brand Green People, has gone back to her Danish roots for her new range. Charlotte Vøhtz has drawn on the native flora and fauna of her Nordic heritage to create Nordic Roots. And this time she has also added active ingredients that are pure and natural to make these products as effective as possible. What a great combination. For me these days, active ingredients are what it’s all about. After a certain age, only these will make a real difference to your skin.

Cranberry Micellar Foam Cleanser:

Full of antioxidants to fight free radicals and an apple cellular complex to hydrate, this light foam will boost elasticity and smooth fine lines as well as cleanse. It also dissolves make up (although personally, I will always use a cream to remove make up first). I know a foam cleanser can do a lot these days, but psychologically I can’t get my head round a super light foam removing all my make up. I tend to use this when I shower in the morning.

Hyaluronic Booster Serum:

Hyaluronic acid is one of the best ways to hydrate skin. It’s been a regular part of my regime for awhile now. And this one is all organic and derived from sugar beets and hop flowers. It will smooth and plump and as well hydrating even the driest skin, it will also target hyperpigmentation and even out skin tone. It’s great for layering under any other serums you are using or under moisturiser or your daily SPF (which I sincerely hope you are using??)

Apple Complex Moisturiser:

I don’t always wear a moisturiser during the day as I mostly wear serums. However if I have a rather thick SPF then I will mix it with a little moisturiser. Also if I’m going out in the evening or going out to an event, I will apply a moisturiser under my make up.

This one works very well over the hyaluronic serum and is super nourishing without being too heavy. It helps to balance the skin barrier and contains vitamin E rich ingredients. It also has amino acids to further hydrate and lock in moisture. And living up to it’s name it contains apple cellular water to boost elasticity in the skin and give an extra glow.

SEE RANGE

Marine Facial Oil:

I have to admit I’m a sucker for a facial oil. Specially an all organic luxurious one like this. Is there anything more pampering at the end of the day than to give your skin a good clean, put your pyjamas on and apply a truly nourishing oil over your face and neck. This one uses Atlantic seaweed to boost collagen production and firm skin. It also tackles hyperpigmentation and evens skin tone.

SEE RANGE

This whole range is scent free and suitable for all types of skin including the most sensitive.

It uses eco-friendly packaging that incorporates 25% grass, is compostable, recyclable and biodegradable.

For anyone wanting to keep it all organic and natural, this range is a good basis for a skin care regime. You always have the option to add some other products to it to up the ante. You could still use a retinol with this and/or a glycolic peel once or twice a week to slough off dead skin. Mix and match I say. That way you can have the best of both worlds.
