Natural Health Beauty Awards 2018

Glynis BarberBeauty, Skincare 2 Comments

Lucky me!  I was recently a judge at the Natural Health International Beauty Awards and given the heavenly category of Body Oils. This meant I was sent two huge boxes of the most fragrant and delicious all natural body oils.

And trust me, choosing is a hard job! But someone’s got to do it, right??

Here I give the low down on why I chose my three winners and also recommend three other great body oils in different price ranges.

Body Oil

Judged by Glynis Barber

Winner

Marina Bercenilla Bath and Body Oil India,

£65, mbparfums.com

Marina Bercenilla Bath and Body Oils (I had to choose one of their fragrances so chose India but Patchouli Clouds is great too) are quite simply magnificent. And they had me at hello. The sleek black box with a beautiful Chanel type glass bottle resting in black straw strewn with dried rose petals immediately gets your attention. The fragrance of the oils is exotic and earthy but not heavy or cloying. The oil itself is super light yet luscious and sinks wonderfully into the skin leaving a faint but lingering sensual scent. Too special for every day use maybe? Perfect for special occasions and definitely special nights.

Highly commended

B–Rose Frankincense & Rose Body Balm,

£28, beeutiful.co.uk

I just loved this body balm. It melts on contact with the skin and leaves it feeling nourished all day long.  It has a lovely and uplifting scent. Using beeswax and honey from British bees,  it’s free of all nasties and made from 100% natural ingredients.

Highly commended

Willow Vitamin E & Gold Body Radiant Energy Glossing Oil,

£32, willowbeautyproducts.co.uk

There is shimmering gold floating around in this oil. You shake it up and when you apply, it gives your body the sheerest most subtle hint of a golden shimmer. Made with natural and organic ingredients, it smells citrusy and fresh.

Here are my other top 3 picks :

Aurelie Firm & Revitalise Dry Body Oil

This is a very light but hydrating and firming oil infused with neroli, lavender, rose and mandarin. It smells intoxicatingly good and I’m slightly addicted to it.

Karethic L’Africaine

A powerful blend of healing African plants. Absorbs well and has a lovely light, pleasing smell. Organic and vegan.

Dr Organic Cocoa Butter Wonder Oil

It’s light and easy to use. It smells of chocolate and made me feel happy. It’s cheap and cheerful and suitable for vegans.

  1. Like you I had my favourite products, and had used them since I was old enough to buy them. A friend introduced me to Tropic this year, the natural skin care range by Apprentice Contestant Susie Ma. After just one week I was converted! They’ve now won over 100 awards to date. The products are freshly made every day from naturally effective ingredients and are constantly researched for sustainable ingredients. It is lovely to use fresh products that are chemical free and protect the environment – and have amazing results..
What you put on your skin should never be a mystery!
