It’s always exciting to find really good natural and chemical free makeup. Just a few years ago the quality wasn’t great, unlike with natural skin products of which there are many wonderful brands, but that is now really beginning to change. I was therefore delighted to be asked to judge lipsticks at this years Natural Beauty Awards.
Below are my 3 winners. As an added bonus I’ve included the winners from the blusher and nail varnish categories (not judged by me).
Lipstick
Winner
Living Nature
Great texture with a very slight sheen, this lipstick has a good pigment that lasts well and keeps your lips feeling hydrated. The Coral Sea shade gives universally good colour, with a warm tone that would flatter anyone.
Highly commended
Natorigin
These lipsticks have a smooth hydrating texture with a flattering sheen. The Rose Cuivre shade gave a soft natural-looking brown.
Highly commended
Lily Lolo
These lipsticks have a slight sheen and are very sheer. With a great range of very natural- looking colours, each shade has a subtle golden frost that’s particularly great on summery days and with a tan.
Blusher
Winner
Lily Lolo’s Naked Pink Blusher Duo
A must-have for the make-up bag, this subtle blush pink can be built on if deeper colour is needed in more subdued lighting. A fabulous product that doesn’t compromise on skin-friendly ingredients, plus it’s vegan and cruelty-free.
Highly commended
Green People
This is a brilliant everyday product with ingredients that include earth minerals and beeswax. It comes complete with a protective SPF 15, while containing no nasties, and isn’t tested on animals. The colour is long-lasting and a natural matte, making it the perfect choice for daily wear.
Highly commended
Inika
Enjoy a healthy touch of lasting colour with this vegan, natural blusher. Made from skin-friendly ingredients, it comes in a sleek black compact with a good-size mirror. If that’s not enough, mess-free application makes it an on-the-go essential.
Nail varnish
Winner
Maggie Anne Free Gel Effect
This product is free from the harmful ingredients that are usually found in nail varnishes. Vegan, and cruelty- free, this is one that you’ll keep coming back to. Want it to last a whole week? Just use the top coat for long- lasting coverage.
Highly commended

From a cuticle scrub and oil to a nail hardener and top coat, this deeply nourishing and protecting range suits all. Enriched with Vitamin E, Pro Vitamin B5 and mongrass Oil, the overnight revival mask works hard to make your nails beautiful.

This varnish lasts well and dries quickly. It’s suitable for vegans and is very gentle, so it doesn’t damage the nails either: win, win!
