Why I’m embracing mat Pilates

I’ve been charting the start of my Pilates Journey and I’m now four months in. I’m also now on the road with a play and getting into a studio to go on the reformer machine is going to be difficult.

As a result I’m going onto the mat and doing mat Pilates. However, I know people who ONLY do the mat and swear by it. Let’s find out what it’s all about.

In the video below I talk to my dear friend, Pilates instructor, Barbara Drennan in the Re:Form Pilates Studio in Barnes. We talk about injuries and the merits of the mat and she shows us some mat exercises.

I’m determined to keep my Pilates up as I’m now really beginning to see some progress, specially in my knees. Activities that have been hard on my knees, are feeling a little easier. I’m thrilled to see an improvement.
