It’s not every day that you get to talk to a gold medal Olympic athlete, so it’s a real honour to interview Tessa Sanderson CBE. She has broken multiple records and has been the first in her field in many instances.
The first black woman to win Olympic gold in Britain
In 1984 Tessa won gold for javelin throwing at the Olympics. She was also the first British person ever to win in this category at the Olympics. The list of her achievements goes on and on.
The first thing I noticed when I met Tessa, is that she looks incredibly fit and youthful. The first thing I noticed when I interviewed her, is her incredible mindset.
As you will see in the video below, Tessa is incredibly positive and fun, as well as determined. I wanted to know what she does for exercise now. I believe that athletes age incredibly well, so how do they keep it up when they’re no longer performing professionally? Her answer was quite surprising as it all seems rather laid back, but don’t be fooled. This girl is as fit as a fiddle, she just makes her exercising fun.
Have a listen for yourself.
