Grace Fodor and Glynis Barber

The 3 things to avoid with makeup

As we age, we need to change some of our makeup habits. It’s amazing how many think that the makeup that worked on their 20 year old complexion, is still going to do the trick. It won’t, I can guarantee you that.

Making some strategic changes, will make sure that our makeup doesn’t begin to drag us down, doing the exact opposite of what we intend it to do.

But how on earth do we do this? Grace Fodor, founder of Studio 10 makeup, and I are here to help.

Our makeup needs the right texture, finish and colour

You can find out exactly what we mean by this by having a watch of the video below.

Here are a list of the products mentioned in each of those categories. They’re all by Studio 10 which is specially made for a mature skin and can be found in the Ageless Shop:

Texture

We need light and creamy textures that sit well on our mature skin.

Liquid blusher – Plumping Blush Glow-plexion

Creamy foundation – Skin Repair Perfect Canvas SPF 30

Finish

We don’t want products that are mattifying. We want products with a dewy finish that give us a glow.

Primer with some serious glow boosting properties (my favourite) – Skin-Lift Glow-plexion

Liquid bronzer – Perfect Bronze Glow-plexion

Blusher and foundation as above.

Colour

We want to add definition that we lose as we age. However, black is no longer flattering as it’s too harsh and drains us. It will close our eyes rather than make them look refreshed and open.

Dark colours like mocha, pewter and navy will be much more flattering.

Pencil eye liners in intense but flattering colours – I-Lift Longwear Liner

We also need to add a flush of pigment back into the skin. Think blusher and bronzer as mentioned above.
